New Multimedia Blog

Ms.Ames teaches my geometry class. She is easy to locate and always answers her email when you need help. When I first entered her class I expected to like the content we were learning, since I loved Algebra, however that was not the case. Geometry is nothing like Algebra, although it contains Algebra. Geometry I have to say is my hardest class.
Geometry Textbook

In geometry we have learned a ton. The topics range from: Pythagorean Therm, Conditional Statements, Special Right Triangles, Trigonometry, and much more. The way her class room works is that midway through the chapter she will quiz us and then at the end of the chapter we have a chapter test. She also throws in projects and assessments into each marking period. We basically have textbook homework everyday. Her grading policy is as follows:homework/classwork 10%, projects 15%, quizzes 25%, and test 50%.

Although geometry is challenging it has aspects that I enjoy. For example, the way we review our homework. This aspect is one of my favorites, because it gives me the chance to realize how I will perform on a graded assessment. In addition, I also get the needed help if I am still confused about the process or steps you need to take. The way technology is used in that class is helpful. She shows us how the lesson we are learning is applicable to real life scenarios using various applications. She also uses technology based homework such as Khan Academy and TTM

Overall, this class is one of the best challenging classes I have taken. The only suggestion would be more on the board practice, where the student would go to the board and answer the question. However, everything else about geometry is great.

Driverless Cars in UK

Electrical Car

  • The government is making road accommodations to make way for driverless cars.
  • Self Drive Pods have already been created.
  • Testing is said to begin in Spring of this year, right after the country establishes the road of conduct.
  • Testing will be conducted in Milton Keynes and Coventry.
  • They assure us that driverless cars are not only safe but are can be less prone to accidents.
  • The cars will be able to communicate with one another to prevent accidents.
  • However, the motor industry is not on the same page as the government. They don't believe to have the service or repair skills for a car with this magneto of technology.
  • The car consist of two seats, with 19 sensors, cameras, and several distance sensors.
  • The UK is providing 19 million euros to launch 4 driverless cars in 4 different UK locations
  • The UK hopes to be to be the world leader in driverless technology.

Copyright Law and Fair Use

Copyright Law and Fair Use are two concepts that are very easily misinterpreted and used incorrectly. The  Educational Technology and Copyright Law cleared up the concept for me. For example, I learned that everything is copyrighted the moment it is tangible. However, this copyright can essentially be vetoed by fair use rules. Another, thing I learned was that a picture can be licensed and not fall under fair use terms. Overall, this article was very helpful in explaining Copyright Laws.

Welcome!

Welcome!

My name is Llariley Coplin. I participate in winter and spring track. I enjoy hanging out with my friends and going to new places. I have always wanted to travel the world. I have one sister that is 8 years younger than I am and drives me nuts. I am currently enrolled in Geometry Honors, English, Biology, World History, Spanish II, and Web 2.0. Spanish II is relatively easy because I am Hispanic, however geometry is my hardest class in comparison to the others. Although college is a while away I am considering the following schools: Rhode Island School of Design, Princeton, Cooper Union, and University of Cincinnati. However, my first choice would definitely be Rhode Island School of design. I want to double major in Architecture and Interior Design.
That is me! Welcome to my blog!
